Tianna Morgan is by far my most challenging character. I’ve noticed that in my previous books my main characters all were ‘nice’. Sure, they’ll have a few mean moments, but I’d work it out and voila, they’re nice again. My characters ‘mean girl moments’ were merely naivety and selfishness for the most part. Perhaps I was subconsciously trying to avoid the black girls are rude narrative. Whatever the cause, I’ve come to one conclusion: black girls are human. They’re allowed to be rude, mean, challenging just as every other race. They’re also allowed to grow. Tianna Morgan is cocky, a bit closed minded, but unapologetically herself. Her growth and self discovery have made her a personal favorite. I will be exploring and discussing Tianna Morgan’s character following Double Crossed release. Stay tuned!
