Wow! I can hardly believe it’s been five years since my journey as an author began. It has been an amazing ride, and I’m so grateful for all the accomplishments I’ve achieved along the way.
I still find it crazy that I’ve self-published 10 books. I remember the first time I published my book; I was so nervous about how it would be received. But over time, the positive feedback and reviews from my readers gave me the confidence to keep going.
Speaking of readers, I’m thrilled to say that I’ve sold close to 8000 books over the past five years. It’s a humbling experience to know that people are enjoying my work and sharing it with their friends and family. Additionally, getting my books into major retailers such as Walmart and Target have been nothing short of a dream come true.
The nominations for several awards have been a truly humbling experience. It’s nice to know that my work has been recognized by my peers in the industry. (As a matter of fact: Vote for me for here for the Black Girls Who Writes Book Awards)
Undoubtedly, writing has been my passion right from childhood. I’ve always loved the power of a well-told story and how it could transport me to different worlds and times. Through writing, I’ve been able to express myself in a way that nothing else could. It has been a form of escape for me, taking me on incredible journeys that I never even imagined.
Reflecting on these accomplishments, I’m excited to see what the next five years will bring. Who knows what new adventures lie in store? But one thing’s for sure: writing will forever be at the center of it all.
